We really do create delicious memories.Dear Oakmont Bakery, We ordered a custom designed cake from the Oakmont Bakery, which was delivered to my daughter's 1-year birthday luncheon at Fox Chapel Golf Club on April 10th. We worked with Courtney Daniels, whom I believe is your custom cake specialist, in the design phase. I do not know which of your bakers worked on the project, but I would certainly like to know, so that I can commend them by name, as well. To say the result was extraordinary, is an understatement. I have contracted for services of all kinds in my personal and professional affairs, from neurosurgeons to painters to structural engineers. I have never been so thoroughly pleased and impressed by the services provided. The artistry and craftsmanship were just overwhelming. Actually, the entire process from beginning to end was satisfying and impressive. Courtney worked with my young daughter in the design aspect. She took my daughter's ideas. which involved decorating the cake with replicas of her pets (a Yorkie, a white cat and a turtle) and melded them into a well balanced layout in an extremely artistic concept. I must say that I am not only impressed with Courtney's capability, but also her deportment and the rapport that she established with my young daughter were exceptional. A day before the cake was delivered, someone had the forethought and courtesy to email photographs of the components, with recommendations regarding assembly. I found that to be highly professional and costumer-oriented. The cake was delivered in a timely manner, and was appropriately set up and assembled in the designated room at the Golf Club. Again, the results were nothing short of amazing. As a crowning achievement -- the cake was delicious! My daughter got the idea for this extraordinary custom designed cake from a television program which I believe is called "Cake Boss". She almost had me driving to Hoboken, New Jersey to pick up a custom cake from the shop there. I am so pleased, and grateful that the Oakmont Bakery, which is located two miles from my home, was able to equal if not surpass the "Cake Boss". You, too, should have a television series. I called the Oakmont bakery explained to them what I wanted and with a theme for a 21st birthday. I would have never expected what I got. It was a cake made out of cupcakes shaped like a margarita complete with edible glitter for the salt around the rim. She could not believe her eyes, thanks to you her 21st was one to remember. Michelle Oakmont Bakery is phenomenal! Your “everything bread” and cookies are part of every family celebration at my house. Recently, I purchased a variety of your cupcakes for several client meetings. I learned a valuable lesson – nobody turns down a visit from me when I come bearing Oakmont Bakery cupcakes. It was absolutely delicious. I would also like to compliment the decorator; it was almost too beautiful to cut. The detail and color combination was gorgeous – this person went above and beyond the customary cake decorating.
Too often consumers are quick to complain, but not bestow compliments where deserved. This cake made a special Birthday celebration – extra special. Thank you!! We had a brand x wedding cake (sorry I just don't have the chops to drag a wedding cake that far in the back of the station wagon and expect it to survive) and groom's cake (southern tradition) but the cookies were the hit and disappeared within hours. Sincerely, I am writing to comment on a very positive experience that I had with your bakery this past weekend. I came in on Friday, April 25 to order a cake to pick up on Sunday. Michael took the order and was very careful to “get” what it was that I was looking for. The cake was a congratulations cake for our Upper School musical – Once On This Island. He was thoughtful enough to go over to the other building to check with the decorator about my request, etc. before we finished the order. Having placed the order, I left feeling confident about it. I was more than pleased on Sunday when I picked up the cake. It was absolutely beautiful. The designer did an incredible job interpreting my idea for this cake and making it a reality. The students loved the cake and commented that it was the perfect ending to the run of the show. To Michael and to the decorator, thank you! Dan I just wanted to let you know I ordered a cake from you last week for my daughter's birthday. We just moved here from New Hampshire and she was bummed that we wouldn't be able to order her cake from her favorite bakery we went to in the past. Julie I just wanted to pass along a little note to let you know my husband thinks your donuts are incredible. I think they are the "tiger" donuts. I am really not sure but we live in Avalon and my husband drives to Oakmont just to buy "goodies" at your bakery. He came home the one day and explained to me he just spent $150 on donuts. I asked him how in the world he could spend $150 on donuts. Well he was on his way to work when he had a "craving" for one of your donuts. He did not want to show up late for a meeting so he drove fast to get to your bakery and then to work on time--He got a speeding ticket. I asked him if it was worth it and he said yes. My husband is a VERY picky eater so if he likes going to Oakmont just to go to your bakery--you must be doing something right. I am not a "sugar" eater so I have yet to try one of your donuts. I am not sure what else you may have as I have never been to your bakery and my husband only buys your donuts. I just wanted to thank you--since my husband is very picky with what he eats, it is sometimes hard to make things for him. If he wants to drive to Oakmont to buy donuts, I will not stop him. I am happy he found something he likes. Tiffany To all at Oakmont Bakery, My mother and I just hosted a baby shower for my sister this past Saturday. We used Sassy Razzy and custom decorated Parrot Head cupcakes to create the most amazing cupcake tree center pieces and they were the hit of the shower. Not only were they incredibly beautiful, but they were also uniquely delicious. When our guests said “They’re too pretty to eat!” we replied “They’re too good not to!”. I have attached a few pictures of the cupcake trees so you can enjoy seeing your hard work pay off. Thank you for helping us create something so special for our special event. When the bride to be called to make an appointment to discuss and have a cake testing and explained she was from the other side of the state, the staff accommodated her need for a date and time to meet with her when she would be in town. The competition suggested stopping by and picking up some cake slices and make an appointment for another time. The staff provided superior service and much time on a busy Saturday evening to answer questions. As I watched the regular customers being greeted and assisted, it seems this is the norm at Oakmont Bakery. Thank you Oakmont Bakery for a wonderful experience, and that was before we tasted the sample cakes! You won our hearts at "hello". Diane Dear Oakmont Bakers, It is a very good thing for me that I live over half an hour away...Last Friday I ventured in to pick up my gourmet cinnamon rolls order and bought some of your cheese bread pizza with artichokes and tomatoes...WOW!! and I picked up some garlic bread sticks...another WOW!! Not to mention a couple of chocolate cream filled donuts found their way into my order. It is very difficult not to buy at least one of everything while shopping in your bakery.
